HOW WE TACKLED THE BRIEF GIVEN TO US
Brief
In November of 2020, after 10 years on rented land, Hectors House Crete had been served an eviction notice by the Crete Forestry Department, without providing a location to relocate their Animal Sanctuary to (as is this agency’s duty). This eviction could have occurred, potentially within days. Leaving the 80+ animals in the care of Hectors House Crete, homeless!
So the shelter desperately needed to raise the funds to purchase new land to construct a new sanctuary and to fight an impending legal dispute.
They were out of time, out of money and it was a complete emergency!

At Journey Digital, because we are MASSIVELY supportive of Animal Compassion & Rescue, we jumped into battle stations, and within 72 hours, we launched their JustGiving Crowdfunding Campaign.
To successfully achieve this, we delivered:
Results
Within days of launching the Hectors House Crete JustGiving campaign and with the help of some well-positioned influencers, the crowdfunding campaign BLEW UP, exceeding over 50% to target!
The success of this project was that it reached over £18,500 and 101% to target. This was a result of a very engaging & emotive video, a detailed & well-constructed crowdfunding campaign, and a strong & committed social media presence, for the entire lifespan of the project.
Most importantly, this success enabled Hectors House Crete to obtain a more permanent plot of land. Also using the funds raised to build an amazing new shelter with modern facilities, and safely relocate all of their rescue animals. This is all thanks to their very generous campaign supporters.
At Journey Digital, although we don’t often operate in such emergency conditions, we strongly felt that this project deserved such a rigorous campaign response and support.
