HOW WE TACKLED THE BRIEF GIVEN TO US
Brief
Food Sense is a unique resource for thoughtful, food-loving eaters and home cooks with a palate for plant-based eating.
The founders came to us wanting to create a Blog and Recipe based website, whereupon they could showcase the latest articles in the industry, create a library of wonderful plant-based recipes, accept recipe submissions, and give access to exclusive areas for subscribers and members. They also needed the site Search Engine Optimised and easily self-editable.
Their digital ambitions were:
Deliverables
For the Food Sense website, we wanted to set the plant-based tone right from selecting the theme and working forward. So we used the Astra Online Cooking Courses template, chose some darker green tones (for backgrounds and buttons), and set the home page to be a Blog Based website to give the users the easiest access to their desired information.
We also wanted to create a beautiful and powerful recipe builder. To display all of the wonderful plant-based recipes within the website and give people the most straightforward tool to add their favourite recipes.
For this, we selected the Cooked Pro WordPress Website Plug-in. Cooked Pro is everything you need to create & display recipes. Ingredients, directions, nutrition facts, photo galleries, timers, printable recipes, and more. Cooked Pro adds sharing, user submissions, star ratings, user profiles, a favourites list and more!
Finally, we built a simple members-only access login and email campaign subscription section.
Our main deliverables were:
Results
Food Sense was launched in April of 2022 and instantly received a steady increase in blog and article submissions. Being a plant-based website, it has been optimised strongly for its market and target user base and is displaying consistently well for its keywords in search engine results pages.
Users are exceptionally pleased with the Cooked Pro plugin for its simplicity and versatility and the extraordinary amount of information it showcases.
With some target marketing and consistent social media campaigning and sharing, Food Sense is primed to become the plant-based platform for green eaters everywhere.
